Sponsorship Information

The Rocky Mountain Section of the Institute of Navigation is a non-profit professional society dedicated to the advancement of the art and science of positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT).  As a non-profit, we heavily rely on contributions from the local community for financial support.  Your tax-deductible contribution helps fund the following programs:

  • Scholarships – The ION Rocky Mountain Scholarship Program which awards $2,500 to qualifying undergraduate and graduate students in Colorado and Wyoming
  • Boy Scouts – Orienteering courses where we work with local troops to teach them GPS and compass navigation techniques
  • College Students – A Mini-Urban-Challenge in which competing student teams design and build a robot capable of autonomously navigating an urban environment mock-up
  • High School Students – A new Academic Achievement in Navigation Program where local middle and high school students participate in a research paper competition; the winning papers receive small prizes and the winning paper in the District receives a donation directly to their school
  • Local Community – The development of a new RMS ION Geocache.

Please know that all donated funds go directly to supporting these programs.  No member of the RMS ION is paid and all hours devoted to programs are on a strictly volunteer basis.

We are pleased to offer a variety of benefits to those individuals and/or companies who support the RMS ION.  Donors are assigned a sponsorship level based upon their level of donation as follows:

  • RMS ION Advocate – Donations ranging from $10.00 – $99.99
  • Bronze Sponsor – Donations ranging from $100.00 – $499.99
  • Silver Sponsor – Donations ranging from $500.00 – $999.99
  • Gold Sponsor – Donations ranging from $1000.00 – $1999.99
